2016	06 Registered and established as the 'Center for the Study of Religion and Civic Culture' under the Research Support Center at Kyung Hee University (Director: Professor Francis Jae-ryong Song). 07 Reinstated and started the publication of the English academic journal “Asian Journal of Religion and Society”
2017	01 Co-hosted a joint seminar with the Sociology Department of East China Normal University, Shanghai, China, on "Changing Society and the Way of Religious Belief: China and Korea." 07 Designated as the headquarters office of the East Asian Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (EASSSR). 07 Co-hosted the preparatory academic conference for the establishment of EASSSR at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, on "Changing Religious Landscape in Contemporary East Asia." 07 Professor Francis Jae-ryong Song appointed as Vice-President (President-elect) of EASSSR and Professor Kwangsuk Yoo appointed as Secretary-General of EASSSR. 08 Official approval and upgrade of the Institute for Religion and Civic Culture as an affiliated research institute of Kyung Hee University.
2018	01 Co-hosted the academic conference on "Science, Religion, and Publicness: Protestantism and Creation Science." 01 Co-hosted a joint seminar with the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture, Nanzan University, Japan, on "A Comparative Study of Religiosity Measurement in Korea and Japan." 04 Solely hosted an international academic conference on "Religiosity Measurement in Late Secular Societies: Case Studies in Korea, Germany, and Japan." 07 Co-hosted the annual academic conference of EASSSR on "Religiosity, Secularity & Pluralism in the Global East" at Singapore Management University, Singapore. 11 Co-hosted an international academic conference on "Changes in the Religious Landscape of the 21st Century and Prospects for the Sociology of Religion." 12 Co-hosted seminars on "Food and Environment." 12 Co-hosted seminars on "Citizen Culture and Eco-humanities ." 12 Presented at the Policy Seminar on "Current Issues and Responses" (Presenter: Jin-geol Ahn, Secretary-General of the People's Participation Solidarity).
2019	06 Policy Seminar on "Long-term Organ Transplantation and Medical Ethics Policies" (Presenter: Kim Myung-hee, Secretary-General of the National Bioethics Policy Institute). 07 Co-hosted the annual academic conference of EASSSR on "East-West Encounters and Religious Change in Modernizing East Asia" at Hokkaido University, Japan.
2020	11 Website renovation for the research institute (mobile optimization and multilingual functionality).
2021	09 Selected for the 2021 Humanities and Social Sciences Research Institute Support Program (September 2021 to August 2027). 11 Held an academic conference on "Carbon Neutrality Policies and Religion: Theory and Practice."
2022	05 Hosted an international academic conference on "Religion and Civic Education in the Era of Ecological Crisis: Theory and Policy." 07 Formed a panel on "Religion and the Covid-19 Pandemic in the Korean Context" for the 2022 EASSSR research team. 11 Published a Special Issue on Religions (A&HCI) titled "Religious Governance and the Covid-19 Pandemic in the Asian Context." 11 Co-hosted a joint academic conference with the Korean Hegel Society on "Encounters of Two Ontological Horizons: Hegel and Buddhism."
2023	07 Presented in Session 7 at "The 5th Annual Meeting of East Asian Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (EASSSR)." 09 Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation with Dongdaemun-gu Information Library and Hwigyeong Children's Library. 10 Co-hosted an academic conference with the HK+ Integrated Medical Humanities Research Team on "Religion, Life, and Political Ecology.
